The Challenge

The annual Jane Austen Tea Party is a beloved event, but prior years presented recurring logistical and service challenges that impacted guest experience and room flow. The client sought a catering partner who could preserve the charm of a traditional English tea while solving practical service issues.

Our Approach

We conducted a full review of past event layouts, service timing, and menu execution, then redesigned both the table experience and room flow to better support guests, servers, and event activities—without compromising elegance or authenticity.


Challenges Addressed & Solutions Implemented

1. Table Space Constraints

Challenge: Six-foot tables seating 10 guests left insufficient center space for tiered trays, teapots, milk, sugar, and shared accompaniments.
Solution: We reconfigured table settings by optimizing place settings and consolidating shared tea service elements into streamlined center presentations. This created adequate space for all tea items while maintaining a refined, period-appropriate aesthetic. In addition, we preset the tea sandwiches and served them to guests which elevated the experience.

2. Lemon Curd & Additional Tea Service Issues

Challenge: In previous years, inconsistent portioning and late replenishment of hot water service flow and guest satisfaction.
Solution: We implemented pre-portioned service vessels and a dedicated replenishment plan, ensuring consistent availability and presentation throughout the event.

3. Room Layout & Raffle Display Limitations

Challenge: The room struggled to comfortably accommodate all tables alongside raffle items, resulting in crowding and traffic bottlenecks.
Solution: We collaborated with event organizers to redesign the room layout, strategically positioning tables and raffle displays to improve circulation, visibility, and guest engagement.
